What does the price I see include?

The price you see displayed as you customize your house represents the total price of that house including land and all your upgrades. If you are in the “Model Customization” section, that price is a very loose estimate of the price of that particular model on a theoretical piece of land in Philadelphia. However, if you are in the “Project Customization” section, that price is the actual price of a finished home on the piece of land described in that project.

Can I make changes to the floor plans?

Our floor plan are actually much more complex designs than they might seem. They have been painstakingly reworked dozens of times to help us reach our goals. These goals are not merely aesthetic and comfort oriented, but also include efficiency in plumbing and HVAC, daylighting and furnishability (is that a word?). That said, we can sometimes make small changes in interior walls and offer the addition of doors. Feel free to contact us if you have questions about minor floor plan adjustments.

Can I get one of your houses if I don’t live in Philadelphia? If so, how much would it cost?

Currently we are only building our homes in Philadelphia, but we are considering other cities for future projects. If you would like your city to be next on our list, just let us know and we will take it into consideration. The cost of one of our homes is very dependent upon where it is built, so it would be difficult to estimate price outside our current neighborhood.

How does Postgreen set it’s pricing?

The cost of our homes is based on a variety of factors including construction costs, land costs and the overall housing market. In general, we strive to keep the cost of our homes the same or less than standard new construction in the same area. 

Are these prefab homes?

While we use some prefab elements and may use more in the future, these are not prefab homes that you can order for delivery. Our homes are built on site to the specifications chosen in the customization tool on this website. If you don’t live in an area where we are currently building homes, let us know. While we can’t ship one to you, we might be convinced to build in your neighborhood.

Can I hire Postgreen to build a custom house on a lot I already own in Philadelphia or plan to purchase?

Yes, but it will be a bit more of a process than choosing a home in one of our projects. Custom design/build is more involved (and more expensive) than the production style housing we have developed in our Postgreen Homes line. We love to work on custom projects but please keep in mind that any custom project means more money and more work. For more information contact us directly.

Do you have any models I can visit?

Yes, you can tour the 100K House by setting an appointment with your Realtor. If haven’t chosen a Realtor, you may schedule with Postgreen directly. If you just want to take a look at the house you can also keep an eye out for one of our frequent open houses. Check in at the Postgreen Homes blog or subscribe to our newsletter.

Does Postgreen plan to build in any other Philly neighborhoods?

Yes. We are always looking for projects throughout Philadelphia, but we are currently focused on the projects listed on this site. If you have a particular neighborhood where you would like to see us build, let us know.
